I got stuck a few weeks back on the AN fittings for the fuel lines. I think I was just being a bit too ‘light’ on tightening the AN fittings, not the attachment of the fittings themselves. I probably churned through $100 of fittings, but now life is good. I tested the pump to filter, and both runs to the engine bay. All 3 are airtight now. The Fragola pressure test kit is great! I’d much rather find a leak now than when it’s on the car.
I was able to setup the fuel line clips by using a tap for 1/4-20 and drilling into the 4″ frame rail – then I got some 1/4-20 screws that fit the clamps and were longer so they could fit into the chassis as well. Seemed to work really well and the lines are secure with a little wiggle room so they don’t bind up.
I’ll finish up the engine bay mount in a bit, I have some insulation from Breeze that I’ll put in the footboxes facing the engine. It’s not cheap, but putting it on later would be silly. Everyone says to reduce heat in the footboxes – so this is my chance! Between the Zero Clearance and Thermo-Tec – the footwells should be about as good as I can get!
Speaking of footwells, I got around to sealing up the passenger footbox with the lower floor panel. Tough squeeze under the car on jacks, wish I had a lift for this work but it’s buttoned up now!
