Boyd's gas tank: Why a Boyd tank

One of my first options is a larger Boyd Welding MKIV Gas Tank for FFR Roadster. First, it is well built. Also, it fits perfectly into the MKIV space where the regular Mustang tank would go. However, there is one detractor. Because you cannot do the drop-trunk mod. In other words, the tank uses all the space above it. So trunk expansion stays limited.

I received the tank a few months ago. Then there was no doubt. It is a work of art. Also, Boyd’s team has excellent welding skills. Meanwhile, they dial in optimal fitment for the MKIV. Next, I included the Aeromotive Stealth 340lph #11542 fuel pump. Because it will feed the Coyote 5.0 engine. After that, I added the Classic Instruments SN38 0-90 ohm Range Fuel Level Sending Unit. Therefore, it aligns well with the digital fuel gauge that FFR provides.

Setting up the fuel sender was pretty simple. First, the tank is 11.5″ deep. So I made a few tweaks. Then I removed the extra bar and shortened the arm. As a result, it was set for 11-11.25″ deep. After that, I mounted the sender with the provided screws. Also, the gasket felt solid.

The last photo shows the ‘Kleiner Mod’. Forum builders know Jeff Kleiner for this idea. In other words, he mounts nut connectors so you never crawl back in. Therefore, you can fit the quick jacks without monkeying around.
