The past few weeks have been really busy. Working from home takes a toll when you look up from the computer and realize it’s 10pm and you’ve been at it since 7am… ugh. Anyhoo, I’ve been playing some clean up on some little things with the car. I’ve been meaning to finish drilling the panels for the rest of the sheetmetal, just hasn’t happened yet… Lazy? Maybe it’s the heat! LOL
I was able to put up more sound/heat-proofing on the firewall. You can’t put enough in these cars from what I hear, so it’s best to do it now when it’s being built.
After a few other tries, I also think I have the correct front ABS sensors from the 2005-2009 Ford Mustang GT500. The originally documented BRAB-291 were much too long. I believe the Motorcraft Part# BRAB-290 will match what John George had installed in his setup, and they’re from the ’05-09 years which should match the HCU setup.
Assembling the Breeze battery box was fun, but had to change it up! This modification will give some much needed trunk space. I’m not too keen on the bolt screwed into holes drilled into the 4″ bar so I decided to riv-nut those holes to make it more sturdy. Using M8 stainless bolts to mount the rear with a few lock-washers and blue loctite will ensure it won’t move, along with the five 3/16 rivets in front.
The last cleanup item was to mount the rear ABS sensors. I’ve had them for a while, but was putting off disassembling the rear brakes for a while. You have to remove the parking caliper, the rotor , the large caliper AND remove the bracket to mount this sensor!
Slow progress is still progress! Still having fun, and smile everytime I walk into the garage; even if it’s 100F outside!
