This update is about front Wilwood brakes MKIV install work. After pad swaps and caliper jobs, this full kit feels like a big step up.

I’ve done brake pad replacements. Also, I’ve removed calipers and swapped rotors. However, nothing like this! I was truly excited to see the Wilwood boxes arrive before everything else.

Now that I’ve nearly finished the IFS (independent front suspension), I’m still waiting on my KONI shocks. Therefore it’s time for the Wilwood brake installation.

Parts for the 25th Anniversary come with custom logo black calipers. They’re the latest Wilwood Forged Dynapro 6A Lug Mount brakes.

Forged Dynapro 6A Lug Mount

Wilwood’s newest DynaPro DP6A Calipers combine racing tech with contemporary design. As a result, they deliver strong braking and high-tech style on custom, show, and competition cars.

This newest model in the DynaPro series features reinforced triple bridge construction. Also, five high strength steel bridge bolts make it the strongest and stiffest DP6 caliper Wilwood has built.

It offers direct interchange with all 5.25″ pattern lug mount DynaPro and Dynalite calipers. Likewise, the forged aluminum six-piston body uses stainless steel pistons with high temperature seals.

Ultimately, DP6A calipers accommodate rotors up to 13″ diameter and widths from .38″ to 1.10″.
