Re-aligning the front ABS sensors

front ABS sensors: Getting back to the GT500 ABS plan

First, it has been a while since my last update. Meanwhile, life has been crazy.

Then my son came over last night. After that, we took a stab at aligning the front ABS sensors.

I am setting up ABS from the 2007-2009 Shelby GT500 ABS setup.

Why the Russ Thompson brackets needed new holes

When I ordered the front sensor mounts for FFR spindles from Russ Thompson, they target earlier 95-04 brakes.

In other words, those brackets expect a different sensor. Therefore the mismatch stumped me for a bit.

However, I looked over builds from johngeorge online.

Also, my son noticed the key detail I missed. For example, johngeorge drilled a second set of holes for the different sensor!

Drilling and final alignment

Thankfully my son has better eyes than me. So we pulled the bolts next.

Then we aligned each sensor. After that, we drilled a new 1/4″ hole in each bracket.

As a result, the sensors sit right on target now. Ultimately, that feels perfect!
