This has been a long 4 year process. Today, I made the steps to get the car registered in California! It’s the SB100 process. This process allows up to 500 cars per year to register as a pre-smog vehicle. My new kit car will be registered as a 1965 model! All I need is the PCV feed back into the intake, which the Coyote already has in our setup.
I setup my appointment for 2:40 pm. I was nearly out the door with my paperwork by 3:20. They asked me to sit down while they reviewed the papers. Still not bad, out by 3:50 so just over an hour for what some claim is a horrible process. CA DMV in Folsom was pretty efficient!
I am sad to say, my wallet is a bit lighter. I had to pay all the taxes on the kit, engine, and transmission sales. Soon we’ll be off to paint! But for now I have a temporary pass to get CHP inspection and a brake/light inspection as well! Yahoo!
