Preparing to remove the body from the frame

I’m prepping to remove the body so I can get to the chassis and start building. First comes tagging and bagging every mount.

I’m hoping to finally re-assemble the body buck and mount the body. Therefore I can finally get to the chassis to start building!

Build school recommendations are clear. Tag and bag all the parts. Also, keep them together so they don’t get lost.

Paint the raw front mounts

I noticed the front body mounts were raw metal. So I spray painted them for protection. Even though nobody will see them. Likewise, they may not even get used.

Hood, trunk, and door panels off

Now I finished body prep. I removed all screws. Next I pulled the hood, trunk, and door panels…

Peter D. Graduates Mk5 Build for Son Scott’s Wedding
Factory Five customer Peter D. from Pfafftown, NC and his son Scott started to put thier Mk5 Roadster plans together early in Fall 2025. Charles M. is Show Favorite with ’33 Hot Rod
Charles M. from Lakeland, FL purchased a built Factory Five ’33 Hot Rod in February 2026. This Hot Rod was built by a company in California that builds cars for movies and TV shows. It was sold at auction with the proceeds being donated to a charity. The auction winner then sold the car to Charles with 594 miles on it.
