My Custom Cobra Car Paint Reveal: 25th Anniversary Masterpiece
The big day is finally here! I took the chassis up to Ken Pike in Marysville, CA, and he worked his magic—ordering the perfect paint and spraying my Cobra to perfection. The result? Absolutely stunning! This isn’t just any car—it’s a custom Cobra car paint job designed to turn heads and celebrate its 25th anniversary in style.
Just to backup a second, my initial take on this car was to be classic – yet modern, but still ‘different’ from every other cobra you see on the road. Yes, it’s not original but it’s REAL enough to drive! I wanted this 25th anniversary car to stand out in a crowd for sure! Originally I was going to go with a black car and bronze stripes, but that had already been done – I didn’t want a duplicate car, it HAD to be unique! I chose the following colors, and here are the paint codes that were used.
A Vision for a Standout Cobra
From the start, I wanted this Cobra to blend classic vibes with a modern twist—something unique, not just another cookie-cutter build. Sure, it’s not an original from the factory, but it’s real, drivable, and one-of-a-kind. My goal was clear: make this 25th anniversary Cobra stand out from every other snake on the road.
Initially, I considered a sleek black base with bronze stripes. It’s a timeless look—but it’s been done before. I didn’t want a duplicate; I needed unique car paint colors that screamed individuality. After some thought, I landed on a bold, fresh combo that’s anything but ordinary.
The Paint Codes Behind the Magic
Ken Pike nailed the execution with these carefully chosen hues. Here are the paint codes we used for this custom car painting project:
- BMW San Marino Blue (B51) – Main Body Color
- Mercedes Crystal Laurite Silver (977) – Center Stripe Color
- GM Cashmere (15U) – pinstripe color
These shades bring the vision to life, balancing heritage and innovation for a Cobra that’s truly mine.
Why Go Custom?
A custom Cobra car paint job isn’t just about looks—it’s about personality. Whether you’re cruising the streets or showing off at a car meet, this finish ensures my 25th anniversary ride stands apart.
Here are the initial pictures, and how it progressed after a few days:

How Custom Car Pinstripes Emerged from a Bronze Paint Job
I’ll be honest—watching the bronze car paint get sprayed on my Cobra had me stumped. How would those sleek custom car pinstripes come to life from this bold base? My mind couldn’t piece it together. But Ken Pike, the genius behind this custom Cobra paint job in Marysville, CA, just smiled and said, “Don’t worry—you’ll see soon.” And boy, was he right!
From Bronze Base to Pinstripe Perfection
The car painting process can feel like a mystery, especially when you’re aiming for something unique. That bronze foundation looked incredible on its own, but I couldn’t picture how the pinstripes would fit. Ken’s confidence kept me intrigued. Spoiler alert: the result was worth the wait, blending that rich bronze with pinstripes that match the wheels—making this 25th anniversary Cobra truly one-of-a-kind.

Finally, I could see the custom car stripes taking shape! What’s fascinating is how the negative space transforms into the stripe itself—tape is the real MVP here! The negative space car design technique uses the unpainted areas to define the lines, while the tape creates crisp, clean edges. It’s a simple trick that turns a good custom paint job reveal into something extraordinary

Now here are the clearcoat pics, and some outdoor sunshine pics as well! OMG!

I’m just spellbound by the photos, I cannot wait to see it in person next week!!! WAHOO!!
