Starting inventory…
Now that the roadster has arrived, the simple checklist is complete. First come 28 boxes. Then three boxes sit on backorder. So let’s get started!

checklist is complete: Opening the POL paperwork

My son and I opened the manilla envelope with the POL (parts on order list). This is a stack of paperwork. It lists the contents of every box. Also, you have to inventory all of it within 45 days.

Box 1, Box 2A, and Box 5
So, we found box #1. Relatively small. However, it was heavy! Each box has a mix of numbered bags. We really feel bad for the factory guys who label, fill, and seal all this stuff. Still, that labeling is brutally needed!

Accounting for each part is essential. Because we need the correct parts to assemble! Here’s box #1 checklist done. Green means complete. Meanwhile, orange means there were extra parts!
Each page has a BOX# and numbered subsystems.

Box 2A took longer
We thought hey, this was easy. Next let’s get box #2. Well, it was 2A. Oh!?

Needless to say, this box took a lot longer! You have BOX2A. Also, 14 subcomponents sit in the box! YOWZA! After this box, we decided to celebrate and grab BOX #5.

Yup! That’s it! One part, the 10.5″ driveshaft. You can see how tiny it is next to my drink cup! LOL
Wheels and anniversary gauges
Upward and onward! We did three unboxings: BOX 1, 2A, and 5. PLUS we also unboxed the 4 wheels. As a result, we’re already 7 boxes in!
Oh, and one more box that’s special to this car…
